30 Rockefeller Plaza
1:4000 scale miniature paper model, 2.5" tall, about 2.5 inches tall
The Art Deco "30 Rock" skyscraper, completed in 1933, was designed by architect Raymond Hood as the centerpiece of a complex of fourteen buildings decorated with public art. The narrow 850-foot limestone tower houses offices, television studios and a rooftop observatory. Across from the east entrance, a sunken plaza features the famous skating rink presided over by Paul Manship's gold Prometheus sculpture.
